I have a lynksys router and the lights are flashing like they are working fine and dandy but I cannot connect to it on my laptop. It shows my network on my possible browser list but I cannot connect to it. My desktop is connected to the internet without a problem but I just cant seem to get my laptop to reconnect. Any help?

I found out when I did this I had the wires switched:
computer to linksys
linksys to modem.

But you say the PC is responding.

If you know how to ping your system, you could also look to see if you are getting a connection.

I guess you have a wireless card in your laptop.
Have you gone into the control panel and reset it?
Go to the wireless network setup wizard under internet connections.

Now and then I have had to go and disable and re-enable devices to get them to work properly. See Phone and Modem Options under Hardware.

I am not an expert and have struggled with these issues, see if this does help. I have had my DSL carrier help me quite a bit.

Also, if you buy from Best Buy, you can go in and see the Geek Squad with your laptop. They have really helped me a couple of times.

You may have to do a hard reset on the router. Then set it up again. Google "linksys router troubleshooting", and look for forums where people have asked for help. You can find alot of good info this way. I myself had this same problem. The guy at best buy told me to do a hard reset. Which basically removes all the information on the router. Then you just start at the beginning. It may have conflicting info on it, if you do not have good security configured on the router. So, make sure when you reset it, that you set up a password.
