I went to an interview for a company that is just starting out "expected to grow" but since it is a small office they have no medical, life, 401k benefits. According to the interview they would give me a percentage of my salary each month to cover medical costs, I asked for 38k. I get three weeks paid vacation and only 3 sick days oh and a company phone (woohoo). It's

If I am offered the job should I take it? what else should I ask for? Help

If you currently are unemployed...take it. Establish yourself, and help establish the company. Once you have proved yourself, and the company shows that it is growing, then ask for more. If it works out, you could find your self at the higher end of a company that could do well, and do very well for you. If not, then you made some money, and keep looking for what you really want. Have a time line, and present it to the company as part of your agreement before you sign a contract. This is a great opportunity to show you leadership skills. Best of luck!

Depends..if you're unemployed and have been for awhile it's more important that you get back into the job market. So take it. Make sure you get health insurance on your own...don't wait! Wonder why they give 3 weeks vacation but no health insurance...that's odd.

But, as another poster said...have a timeline. If they don't have health insurance by a specific date you should consider leaving.
