Does somebody know if the last name "DeMarcus" from Jay from Rascal Flatts mean something?

I just found out that the last name "LeVox" from Gary from Rascal Flatts meant "The Voice" so I just wondered if "DeMarcus" meant something.

Demarcus is Jay's original last name, he didn't change it. I know Demarcus is an Italian. I don't know why he chose the first name Jay though (his real first name is Stanley).
