Many years ago, when studying History and Philosophy, I noticed something amazing that happened in two parts of the world at about the same time. Two major religions, or beliefs, bifurcated.
With the Jews, you had the beginning of what became Christianity and with the Buddhist, you had the split that made two different schools - Hinayana and Mayayana (Spelling might not be correct.)
Both new groups had a few things in common. Salvation was the major one of them. Judaism has no salvation concept in it and Hinayana Buddhism had none.
The first really obvious religion with the concept of a war between good and evil was Zoroasterianism. The concept of salvation also comes from that.
I began to think that the reason for that might have been the Alexandrian invasion of Persia, the home of Zoroasterianism, which led to mass migrations of Zoroasterians going East towards Israel and West towards India (where Buddhism started). The changes, I believed were from a single cause because they happen almost simultaneously and were so similar in what they did.
After graduation from university, I entered the text book business selling for a major publishing house calling on university professors. While working in NYC, I met probably the single most imporant scholar on Buddhism of the day, T. Z. Suzuki, who taught at Columbia. I discussed this with him and he thoroughly agreed with my assumption, even citing a part of one of his books on Buddhism wherein he actually stated it. I had not read that book at that time.
I would say that Jesus and Buddha, from that point on (and you have to remember that Buddhism in its first state is far older than Christianity) are blended beings. There are vast differences, of course, mainly because of where their original philosophies came from, but their moral teachings are virtually the same. Both the insemination of Mary and the insemination of Buddha, though very different, are equally astounding.
But then you have to consider the ethical and moral teachings of Aristotle are much the same as those of Jesus and Confucious and are basically the same with Buddhism.
There is nothing new under the sun.

Even though Buddha represents good and fair, he can not be compared with Jesus. Buddism teaches about the Universe being the sourse of life... cause and efect. Jesus was the creator of the Universe and Buddha. Budda died and is under ground. Jesus was resurected and according the Bible, He sets at the right side of God, His Father, The creator of Buddha.

Some idiots decided that all these imaginary messiahs were actually just one thing, but if they think people made them all up in the first place why does that mean they all exist?
