I've just come back with a PC from USA and when I tried to power it up, it king of lit up, popped and then nothing came on. I understand that USA voltage is different but I had it on 230V which is the norm for UK. The PC was working fine in the U.S. What could be wrong?

Check the Cable which you've plugged in to the socket if it is fitted with the fuse there is a possibility the fuse is blown try changing the fuse or if you were using any extension leads it good to check the fuse some times the fuse blows due to change volts

Check the power supply light on the back of the computer, is it on? If so there could be a serious error with the motherboard, something may have short circuited during your move. Try to disconnect everything from the back of the computer, except mouse, monitor, keyboard and power. Turn off the computer, hold down the power button to turn off the computer, remove the power cord, hold down the power button for 30 seconds, then plug everything back into the computer, if the computer still does not come up, then there's a good chance that the motherboard has to be replaced. If you feel comfortable you could open your tower, and remove the memory cards and plug them back in, check the cmos battery, remove that as well and plug it back in, (it looks like a large flat watch battery). Also remove any other hardware you added into the inside of the computer. If you tried that and it STILL doesnt boot, then you're in serious trouble!

just take ur PC to a PC maintinance shope and they will change the power supply because the old one is tost now, hopfully your motherboard is not harmed.
it wont cost you more than 30£ to change the powersupply transformer but it might be upto 100£.

Did you slide the red switch on the back to the 230V position? You probably just fried the power supply or something else. You'll have to take it to get serviced.
