I thought it was a good movie but did NOT at all follow the book. What about you?

I've read both books, and completely agree. Nothing at all, except the basic details, was the same. Saphira matured in a single flight, it was never said that Arya was an elf (and she basically let Brom die in the movie, because she could have healed him), the Ra'zac were covered in bugs (for some unknown reason), Angela had a three second cameo, and I hated the costuming in general. Where on earth is Eragon, a poor farm boy in the middle of nowhere, going to find shiny leather pants? And Arya went through practically the whole film in a leather dress, which elves would absolutely despise.

i haven't read the whole book, but i agree. that is just how hollywood does movies now. i think that's why everyone liked lord of the rings though. the director tried to make it as close to the book as he could.
