how do planarians reproduce (other than regeneration)?

and...i have a question to fill out that i can't find the answer to:

"Since the planarian are animals and do not make their own food, give one reason why they might possibly need an eye spot."

thanks.

A planarian can reproduce either asexually or sexually. In asexual reproduction the planarian detaches its tail end and each half regrows the lost parts. In sexual reproduction each Planaria gives and receives sperm. Planaria have both testes and ovaries. Eggs develop inside the body and are shed in capsules. Weeks later the eggs hatch and grow into adults.

The eyespots act as photoreceptors and are used to move away from light sources. Maybe they are more likely to be eaten in the light. Since they eat small living and dead animals, they may move away from the light to locate the bottom of the body of water in which they live and the site of accumulation of dead organisms.

Bacteria is only one type of micro organisms. So all bacteria are micro organisms but not all micro organisms are bacteria. So I think it depends on how specific the teacher would want you to be and if they're strict.
