Can somebody help me w/ Metal Gear?

Question

I need any tips that could help. I'm at the bit where you get the ammo for the handgun, but can get no further; can't find a way out. I opened one door with lv 1 card and there was a sleepy guard and a mask I couldn't pick up inside. What's the deal with Mr. Snieder, or what ever his name is? he says to contact 12079 and I did, but there's no answer. Please help.

Sounds like you're talking about the original MSX version (predating the 8-bit Nintendo NES version by 5 months, and re-released on cellphones and part of MGS3:Subsistence).

Kyle Schneider's going to be important later in the game.

Wait for the guard to fall asleep, and walk up to the table right below the gas mask to pick it up. Get out of there, and head towards the elevator that was guarded by two guards. You'll have to wait until they move, and sneak on. Head to the 3rd floor. On the 3rd floor, you'll encounter some security cameras which you'll have to sneak under. You'll find a POW to rescue, and get to use your gas mask.

Some tips:

+ Re-enter any rooms and trucks that have ammo or disposable equipment (mines, rations, etc.) to pick up extra supplies.
+ ALWAYS answer the radio. Most messages will be helpful.
+ Until you have a silencer, forget about the gun except in boss encounters.
+ Stuck? Radio everyone for support.

I would help, but are you talking Metal Gear Solid or Metal Gear? Metal Gear was on the NES and I don't remember anything about it.
