Other than the IRS, what are some organizations or agencies who oversee nonprofits making sure they are running their organization for the benefit of society and non just themselves?

Oversight/auditing, as in reporting a non-profit who might be operating fradulantly, in their operations, purpose and financially.

There's not much that can be done other than if the IRS finds problems or someone has information and leaks it to the media. Jesse Jackson has been getting away scott free for years. If you are in charge, hire a good CPA to manage the books.
