Spellcheckers don't usually flag a misused word as long as it is spelled correctly. Microsoft Word XP doesn't flag either "antidote" or "anecdote" when misused in sentences. I just tried it to make sure.
As far as looking stupid goes, well that's another story.
I presume you used "antidote" instead of "anecdote" (or vice versa) and then some program pointed that out to you. That's a pretty tough call for any program.
Lets say one writes the following:
"My captors injected me with poison and then gave me the anecdote."
This means that that the person was given poison and then told a short story. Unless the short story is the antidote to the poison this person is in a lot of trouble health-wise.
or perhaps one writes:
"The group of friends were hanging out one night when Joe told them an antidote."
This means that Joe told the group about a substance that counteracts the action of another substance, usually refering to poisons. In other words, Joe told an anecdote about antidote. Hmmm!
Thank your lucky stars that this was pointed out to you by some program and that you didn't send out what was written with the words misused. Think about how "stupid" or "ignorant" you would have looked then.
Be glad you caught it and learn from your mistakes!

i think of the subject is that the government is composed of itself too a lot in our lives and curbs the liberty that we based usa to have. there's a reason that we got here right here and had our revolution and that i've got self assurance that the present government seems previous this because it creates new rules that invade our privateness. the subject I extremely have with marijuana is the certainty that the government has discounted each and all of the useful makes use of of hemp - the two commercially and privately. It became initially banned because of the fact companies of the time did not like the competition, so lies have been concocted to tell the people of the "evils" of marijuana. It does much less harm than alcohol and different criminal drugs - yet they are actually not going to ever legalize because of the fact they might might desire to make too many changes. i'm waiting for substitute - optimistically this next election will convey some.

Yeah and I hate when people bag on you for it. Or when you had a really good answer for the question, but the person doesn't pick you because you spelled something wrong.

lol, It made me look up the definition!
I try not to use the spell checker, I can do a better job of making myself stupid without it.

Actually, the question of "schnauzer venom" was enough to make your question look silly.
Bravo on making use of the spell check feature though. I wish more people would do that.
