Why all this - "I guess we'll never know" tosh ?
No - you will never know if you don't look.
The concept that there has been "sudden" changes in our technology is an utter myth. Certainly there has been an acceleration in technological advances recently, but this can be attributed to the computing power now available to us.
Going further back in time - at every stage where it seems a "sudden" change has taken place (eg. agriculture, architecture, language) there is plenty of historical and archaeological evidence which shows the developments leading up to this critical point. All you have to do is look.......not just shrug your shoulders and say "I guess we'll never know".
Why do we need to envoke aliens as the answer for everything? Mankind is an extremely clever animal and we should not underestimate the achievements of our ancestors.

Not really. Panspermia is possible, though.
The Roman's experimented with their military, and it was a success.
Civilization had to develop sometime, even in the America's.
The Mayans started farming, and this led to their technological development.
Th Incans are weird.
It seems strange that an empire could have developed without writing.
Aliens, maybe?
Or just skill, perhaps.
This could all be one of their experiments on the evolution of species and societies.
How cool would that be?
By the way, panspermia (life on earth came from elsewhere) is a definite biological possibility.
It is possible that adenine and other biological molecules could have formed in space gas clouds.
We have found organic imprints in meteorites.
But no aliens.

LOL. You need to watch "The Day the Earth Stood Still". Watch the original. Don't have to watch the remake. It only has better special effects. Anyways, I don't think aliens could change our culture. Humans are really powerful. They won't allow aliens to come on Earth.

good question.
I often wonder how we advanced so quickly as we have... look at, for instance, the microwave oven.
Where the hell did that come from?
It's a popular theory amongst conspiracy fanatics that we have back engineered alien technology recovered from crash sites.
I suppose we'll never really know the answer to this one.

assuming that you don't believe that humans could have come up with these things themselves, then there are plenty of explanations that don't necessarily involve aliens.
aliens are just one possibility among many, and if one of them is true, chances are we may not have even thought of it yet. after all, there are people who call things like that "miracles from god" and others who call it a government conspiracy.
take your pick of theories, really. we'll probably never know.
