Hi Emma I'm really sorry to hear about you're ipod I've had several ipods myself (3) and they have all broken fortunately for me they were all under warranty and the shop i brought them from offered excellent service (comet, i advise anyone to shop there I'm a very happy customer). on the last ipod i had when i took it back the lady at the counter said that they are always getting trouble with them and that apple are a really crap company to deal with as repairs seem to take so long and that they are a nightmare to contact and don't return there calls very often. When i heard this i decided to get a different make of mp3 player i got erm i think it was a 20GB Sony. When i got this home i found out that i needed to download a patch from there site which was just unbelievably difficult it wasn't made clear what it was i needed!! so back to the shop it went.in the end i looked on the net for mp3 players that were compatible with windows media player and ended up getting a zen creative 1 GB witch is bloody brill i've also spoken to loads of people who have also had trouble with there ipods (personally i think at best there CRAP) from complants such as the battery times don't last as long as apple say they do from faults with the colour screens to software problems good god all we ask for as consumers is that the products we buy bloody well work i don't think thats much to ask.Emma if you've read all this i would like to thank you of giving me the opportunity to blow off steam Thx :) if i was you and decided to get another player i'd have a good look round first try this:-http://www.playsforsure.com/SearchResults.aspx?searchtype=GetStarted&cat=AllDevices GOOD LUCK emma hope this helps :)

When you connect your ipod to the computer, when you want to take it out make sure you click on the little icon in the bottom right corner of the screen on the task bar because if you just take it out if freezes up your ipod and the computer. So plug it back in and take it out using that way.

something you may want to try is restoring the ipod. connect it to your computer and go on ipod updater. from there you can restore it which will wipe it clean and often will solve problems if resetting hasn't worked.

hope this is helpful. :)

ok, connect your ipod, if you have itunes 7.02 go to your ipod summary window (or payne) select options then disable disc use. then it should be back to normal...if not, then go to www.apple.com then click on support to help you.
