What I mean is that when you use the term American, it refers to Central, South, and North America. A lot of the time, people just use the term to describe people from the United States, which is silly, because if you're saying how Americans are ignorant or something else, you're pretty much insulting three different areas. Why not just call them "United Statesians"? haha, okay, so that sounds pretty awful. I guess they just stick to Americans because there isn't a way for getting a better, less generalized name. But I think there should be. :/

I've heard the term "US Americans" used in a lot of intercultural communication scenarios. Maybe that works best.

And to the snotjob above me, we had our own culture until the Europeans came and sent my ancestors on the Trail of Tears.

Because we are a country of states., united. In so America they are individual countries. Like Brazilians, Colombians etc. Mex. Is Mexicans, or Latinos. Central America, Panamanians, See what I mean. To call us anything but Americans, you would have to isolate out state and call us like , Californians, Oraganites, Utahans, That would be time consuming. Good question.,
