The question is fairly self-explanatory although before you start to answer this a) Press the back button if youre one of those anti-marijuana people, i have smoked marijuana for years and contrary to belief marijuana does not make a person stupid or incompetent.
b) i have been weightlifting for the past two years every night,
smoking in between completion of a set.
c) im insulin dependant diabetic with a very fast metabolism so it is incredibly difficult to gain weight even if eating a ton of food (which i usually do anyway), i only weigh 76Kg but it fluctuates 5Kg both ways in very short ammounts of time too.
d) i love working out and i love good marijuana too so why not compliment the two?
e) I am always high when i lift, otherwise i cant bring myself to touch a weight. i would like to change this so i could lift weights anytime. what i really want to know is how could i get motivated?

First off, ignore all these assholes saying that pot is bad and that you should quit. I've been a smoker for years, and I **LOVE** getting high. I do a lot of housework when I'm blazed cause it's easy to focus on mindless tasks. One word of caution though: marijuana consumption tends to increase heart rate, as does strenuous exercise. Working out while being high might put a strain on your heart. I would suggest slowly weening yourself off the pot when you work out...as in, get high and work out, then the next day get a little less high before you work out, and finally you'll be working out sober. Good luck! ^_^ (And F-U all you anti-weed people, he asked you to keep your mouth shut if you are one of those assholes.)

your gonna hear me gripe but, just listen please. I'm not against smoking MJ. I don't but, what ever floats your boat. I'm speaking as a person who just lost their husband of 11 years to diabetes. He too was insulin dependent. Lifting weights is admirable and any doc will tell you exercise is great if you are a diabetic. I'm not sure how much you know about diabetes but, let me through this fact out there. Your veins and arteries are smaller than the average person's. So if you ever develop heart disease a doc will hesitate to do a stint to help keep a clogged artery from clogging up again. The smoke from any type of cigarette will further constrict your veins and arteries putting you at a greater risk of a heart attack. Lifting weights also puts stress on your heart and raises blood pressure so, please keep yourself checked out by a doc.

As for why you only feel motivated only when you smoke all i can say is it may have something to do with the high you get giving you more energy or something.

Getting motivated is not what marijuana is about.
It has the opposite effect. If you want to get up and
get going, regardless of reason, drop the weed.
It is good for sleep, appetite, pain, and giving you
a false sense of being okay...which you are not.
Weight lifting is the least of your problems.
An insulin dependent diabetic should know better
than to take or use anything that can get in the way
of their medications being absorbed. Check with your MD.

If you need marijuana to get motivated, then there is definetly a problem, which was likely caused by the marijuana. If you cut back on smoking that could help. Just try forcing yourself to work out without the weed, you didn't need it before you smoked right?

I've never seen anything wrong with it. I like to workout when I'm "broadening my horizons". It seems to actually have the opposite affect on me and helps me concentrate. People have all sorts of misconceptions about marijuana, but my boyfriend will tell you, after smoking I'm always more motivated to do things (even cleaning or washing dishes), it's a quick and easy way to relax after work. If you are looking for more ways to get motivated try joining a gym so you're motivated to look good for the chicks watching.

Yeah, yeah, don't be so paranoid. Just wanted to say that when I smoked marijuana years ago, I never got motivated to do anything. Except EAT.
