Ok ok..all you Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Who fans just sit down a minute. I'm a fan of them as well. Anyone who truly appreciates music will recognize that all these bands, and others, have made enormous contributions to the world of rock. So please just pick one--The Beatles or The Stones?

You people never fail to let me down! I was going to write in my original question "and all you Metallica, Nirvana, Whitesnake, etc. fans just chill for a minute.". LOL. C'mon boys and girls..just answer the question:Beatles or Stones?

I'd say the Stones beat the Beatles. The Stones have lasted longer and have made many more albums and songs than the Beatles. Many of the Rolling Stones' albums have hit #1 and #2 spots. Also, the Stones have a ton of hits, such as Satisfaction, Paint It Black, Honky Tonk Women, and Brown Sugar, just to name a few. The Beatles didn't last nearly as long and their music isn't as interesting as the Stones' (opinionated). The Stones are probably a bigger influennce than the Beatles.

I don't think so because rock was just starting to develop in the 60's. There have been a lot of new genres invented since rock. I hate to sound jaded, but our generation is most likely going to be known for club music. Future generations might acknowledge indie bands though. Just how some people still acknowledge lesser known bands of the 60's as well as popular ones.

I would have to say the stones because they are more rock n roll than the beatles. To me the beatles are more like pop music then the stones. But I do like em' both. I just like the stones more.

That's like asking if you like steak or lobster better.
For me, it depends on my mood.
"Tatoo You"....."Shattered"...."Start Me Up" I love it.
Pure raw energy.
That being said, for purely artistic merit, The Beatles early works and the melodies in their songs are still being duplicated in many forms today (harmonizing, layering, etc).
Their later works are so much more interesting and developed musically than anything The Stones ever did.
I'd vote Beatles every time if I had to choose.

The Beatles were pioneers...they started something new...they changed America forever and paved the way for the other British bands to follow. For that reason...i would say the Beatles....!
