His burns look pretty real. Wondering if it is real why he would put himself through that.

It's fake. They used really good make-up artists to make it look real.

It was very much real...
and as for why he put himself through that
it was part of the match. But i don't think any
of them meant to get burnt that bad,

tHe received a first degree burn. That is when you skin turns red. Blistering is second degree, what hey showed was made up to look like a third degree burn
