plug the usb cable into the computer in the port and the psp. After that go to My Computer, then click on your music folder and copy any music you want then go back to the My Computer main page. The PSP should either be a file named F L or K it should be under the catagory devices with removable storage. When you click on the right folder click on psp and then click the music folder then paste the music that you copied before and there you go.

this is a step by step guide.

turn on your psp (with no umd disk in it).
plug the usb cable into the top of your psp (the little plug goes this end).
plug the other big end of the usb cable into your computor.
now on your psp go to the settings icon on the far left of the screen. on that menu scroll down a couple of icons to USB connection, then press X.
you have now creates a connection between your psp and the computor. your psp is now accessable from the my computer icon on your PC as an extra drive.

My Friend has a psp. I think u get a small disk from the store for the psp, and u put the small disk in a little spot on the left or right. Then u go on the computer and download the music on the website it is on. Be careful there is a minimum songs u can put on each disk. U can also download movies. I don't really don't the website u download them in.

you need to create certain files. if you have the latest firmware (3.03 i think), then you can create a folder on the psp memory card called PSP then one inside called VIDEO and also PHOTO and MUSIC. put ur .mp4's in VIDEO, .jpg's, .gif's and .bmp's in PHOTO and .mp3's and .wmv's in MUSIC (n.b. you must enable play of .wmv's in the settings menu.) if you have the old firmware then u need a folder called MNV1001 i think but research:
"How to add videos to my PSP" on Yahoo or Google for extra details as what i have given you is just a guideline.

Simple:

Put files in the specified folders manually.

For Mp3 files: (eg. rock the party.mp3)
"PSP" => "MUSIC"

For movie files: (e.g lion's den.mp4)
"PSP" => "MP_ROOT" => "~MNV1001"

For Photo files: (e.g my house.jpg)
"PSP" => "PHOTO"

Note: PSP can only read the type of file formats in example. Unless you have a firmware upgrade vie (http://www.yourpsp.com)
