It would deffenitly have to be Howard. Don't get me wrong Howard's a great player but Dirk is everything to this team. Dirk is the star and leader on the Mavericks. If their is no Dirk then I'm pretty sure the Mavericks would have a real tough time winning in the playoffs even though the Mav's have a real deep and talented bench. Dirk is averaging over 20 points a game this year if you take that out of the line up then the games that are not blowouts become close games or losses. And Dirk is one of the top five candadities for MVP this year, you have to be significant to be an MVP candadite.

Definitely Josh Howard. I mean he's a good player, but their team really revolves and is focused on Dirk. And Dirk has shown to play even better in the playoffs and is an outstanding shooter. Without Dirk, the Mavericks would only be a mediocre team.

Josh Howard......Dirk is just plain better, don't get me wrong Josh Howard is an amazing young talent in the league getting better all the time but he doesn't give you the numbers Dirk does, and plus Josh is more of go to the basket kind of guy, Dirk got more range. Mavericks looking really good this year good luck to Avery Johnson and the team. Mark Cuban gotta be pretty happy, they look like a repeat contender in the Finals, they might be smoking victory cigars before its all done and over, better make sure they are "Cubans" lol

Howard, Especially in the western conference a top notch big man is a must to win. Thats not to say losing howard wouldnt be a big loss, but losing dirk would be worse because of all the things he does for them. Hes an mvp canidate in my eyes

Dirk is not as valuable to his team as Howard is. If u look at the orlando's roster it isn't even close as deep as the Mav's roster is so I would rather have dirk hurt

How do you replace a Dirk Nowitzki? You can't really. Stackhouse filled in for Howard when he got hurt and did a decent job.

Josh Howard went down earlier so I would have to pick him. The team has played without his presence before.
