you can have a false positive, it is not impossible, and there are different reasons for it. Check out the link below. I took a pregnancy test with my first child, 5 days straight because in my heart i just knew i was pregnant, each time it came back negative. the final day i took one at home, it was neg. so i went to the dr because i was having stomach cramps and didnt know what to take since we were trying for a baby. they told me the preg. test they did there was neg. and by the time i got home, there was an urgent message for me to call the clinic. When i did, the doctor said that after i left the nurse pointed out that the test turned positive. Swear to God, true story. This pregnancy however, the first test i took showed neg, and the next evening i took another one and it was positive right away. I agree, the only sure way to tell is to go to your doctor.

At 3 am your urine has a greater concentration of the hormone that indicates you are pregnant, if you are pregnant. At 10 am the hormone level may have dipped making it unreadable. You either got a false positive at 3 am (which I doubt) or you are very newly pregnant. I would make an appointment with your doctor to take a test through them. A blood test can tell in 3-4 days after conception.

it is very unlikely to get a false positive on a pregnancy test. a false negative is different and happens all the time. when you took the test at 3am it was positive, probably because your first morning urine has a higher concentration of the pregnancy hormone hcg, while later in the day at 10am it isn't as concentrated and might not have enough of the hormone to come out positive.
i'd suggest waiting a couple of days and trying again or making an appointment with your doctor so you can find out with one of their tests. goodluck!

I took several tests and got both negatives and positives. What gives? See FAQ 9 above; there are many variables-- concentration of urine, sensitivity of the test. Since true false positives are pretty rare, if you get at least one positive HPT, you are probably pregnant. Wait a couple of days and test again or try another brand if you are suspect. If you suspect you have a true false positive (meaning you did not conceive and still got a positive), http://www.peeonastick.com

I've always heard that you can get a false negative, but never a false positive pregnancy test. If your body is making pregnancy hormones it is becuase you are pregnant. Go to the Doctor and get a more accurate test.

The concentration of HCG will be highest with the first morning urine.
So the positive test is prob correct.

I think you are suppose to wait until the morning for a reason. You need to have a more concentrated urine sample that you get in the morning. Try it again and follow the directions.

Get another brand with 2 in the box and try again. If that doesn't work out.....get a blood HCG test done.
