-Pretty senery.
I really would like living in California, but it is very expensive. The thing about Florida is the huricanes. Where in Florida has the least amount of huricanes, or possibly none? Is Georgia a better choice? It's really pretty there, but I don't want the country lifestyle.

I'm used to living near Chicago, so I would like an upbeat town with a city near-by. the only thing I don't like in Chicago is that it gets so cold! I think I need to stress that I DO NOT want a country lifestyle.

cost of living is good
move to the Katy -bear creek area
apartment rent ranges from 480 - 900 if y ou want 2 live some decent safe and nice park 10 area apartment rent is 700- 900
great Cy fair districts and Katy districts
lovely scenery plenty of jobs down here etc. we haven't had hurricane since 1984
last big flood was Allison a tropical storm not a hurricane
the areas to not move in in Texas - greens point area floods, king wood , Ce king, etc. move west near I-10 and Katy because its hill country and on a high plain so no major flood issues

My vote is for the Carolinas. I live in SC. If you stay away from the coast, then you don't have to worry about hurricanes. The weather is great and real estate is affordable. There are some good schools, too. I live in the Upstate of SC in Greenville, which is a small city but it has everything I need. Larger cities (Charlotte, NC and Atlanta) are just 1.5 and 2.5 hours away, respectively. We are near the mountains too so there is great scenery.

I was thinking like Austin, Texas. Texas is a beautiful state and there are many good cities/towns. I'm not sure one how affordable or not that they are. I know as long as you dont live on the coast that hurricanes arent too much of an issue. Tornados might be I'm not all that sure. The schools arent too bad from what I hear from my step-mom. She used to live there. Good luck in your search!

Move to Savannah, Georgia. I lived there for almost 5 years and we didn't have one hurricane. The cost of living is great also. I live near Phoenix Arizona now. It is hot in the summertime, but Phoenix is great, lots to do and see. Its relatively expensive to live here. Good Luck with you search!

Oklahoma and Texas are decent choices too. The cost of living is lower, it's beautiful, warm, and they have nice schools. There are tornados in Oklahoma, so the southern part of the state is better. They don't see as many.

Austin, Texas
It's warm, it's inland, good schools, we got the hill country, and it's semi-affordable.
