Your husband. I have always loved Belinda Carlisle's music. She was great with The Go Go's and great in her own right. She had hits that may have been considered lame like 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth' (I didn't find it lame), but she also had some wonderful songs like 'Leave A Light On,' 'Half the World,' and 'Summer Rain.' It all comes down to a matter of music taste. Some love her, some hate her. She has a wonderful voice and she is beautiful, you can't argue with that. I have to agree with your husband who sounds like he has great taste in music!

Some people like the opera Carmen, others like grinding metal from Ozzy.
Musical tastes are hard to dictate. A lot of times, folks like the kinds of music they grew up around - you might find that an otherwise reasonable person who grew up in a household where bluegrass was on the radio all the time has some eclectic tastes, whereas the wierded-out space cadet with the nose ring and the tats on the forehead grew up with Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra and just loves Michael Boublais.
Belinda Carlisle isn't the worst artiste' to ever hit the charts. (Think of Donnie and Marie Osmond and the Cowsills, for instance.)

My X was into her too, and it had little to do w/ her music. You are 100% correct, she was lame, so were The Go Go's...

there is no right or wrong answer to question of taste!
personally...I liked the GoGos at the time.....think they are a wee bit too old for a comeback, though!
