i am a new knitter and am unsure of what to do when i find these abbreviations: my instructions are as follows:
(k1,k2tog) 6 times, k1.13sts.P1row.
Then the next instruction is... P accross all sts.27sts.**
and what does it mean when it states wrong side and right side? or turn?

"(k1,k2tog) 6 times, k1. 13sts. P1row.
Then the next instruction is... P accross all sts. 27sts.**
and what does it mean when it states wrong side and right side? or turn? "

Before this first instruction, you must have turned half way along the needle as if to shape a garment or divide for a v neck and started going back the other way. That's because 13 stitches is approx. half of the 27 stitches mentioned later so the other side must have already been reduced in same way..

k1,k2 together x 6 will reduce 18 stitches down to 12 stiches, + the k1 = 13 stitches total. That's the knit row or the right side.

P1 row means pearl back across that row of 13 stitches by putting the needle in the front of the previous stitch instead of in the right hand side as for k or knit. That's the wrong side.

The next instruction being P or pearl across all stitches means that where you previously divided your work in two (presumably you're working on a double ended needle) you will now pearl right the way across both sides.

It's a wee bit complicated for a beginner.

The first bit in the brackets should be repeated 6 times. IE. Knit one , knit two stitches together.... 6 times.
Then knit one stitch.... you should then have 13 stitches left after doing this.
Next it sounds like you should Purl the whole of the next row.
Now this is where it gets confusing because if you only have 13 sts then it will be impossible to purl across 27. So i don't understand it.
The wrong side is the back side or what would be inside of the garment. The right side is the best side that you want people to see.
TURN ,...means to swap the needles over in your hands so you are working the opposite way as soon as it says "turn" (even if it is in the middle of a row)
There are some web sites which have short videos to teach you how to do most stitches

Well, the knit 1, knit 2 together 6 times, knit 1 is a decrease row. Followed by a purl row. However, unless there is a knit 2, yarn over (yo) row the purl across all stitches for 27 stitches won't work, unless there is more to the first row than you indicate. In order for the row to come to 27 stitches you have to increase somewhere.

(knit 1 stitch then knit 2 together) do that 6 times,
(knit 1)then you should have 13stiches left on your needle.
purl 1 row.
then purl across the next row, you should then have 27stitches left.
if your knitting a cardigan for example, the wrong side would be the inside of the cardigan the right side would be the outside. turn means turn the needle round to start knitting on the other side.

ok k1 means knit one
k2tog means knit two together
6 times means simply repeat the obove 6 times
13 sts meant you should have 13 stitches remaining on your kneedle
p1 means pearl one row (pearl means knit with the kneedles pointing toward you oposite to knitting
the last bit is just pearl instead of knit the 27 stitches
the ** means end
the wrong side is the side that faces you as you would wear it
the right side is what others look at while you waer it
turn means you knitting over what you have just done

hope this helps i'm addicted to knitting :)

(knit l stitch, knit 2 together,) Those are a pattern , do that 6 times, then knit l. I think it means you have a total of 13 stitches, and you are to purl the next row. From there I am lost, You need some one who can look at the work. Good luch.

Knit one, knit two together (that means to pick up two stitches on your needle and treat them as one) 6 times, knit one, 13 stitches, purl one row

Purl across all stitches. 27 stitches

Right side is the side that when you knit a row purl a row it looks like braids

Wrong side is where there are waves.

If you just knit the whole thing and don't purl there is no right or wrong side....pick one.

Just to add to what other people have said (their answers are all correct)...
The right side is the side of the knitting you will see when the garment is finished
Wrong side is the back.

As you are doing stocking stitch (knitting and purling alternate rows), the right side will be the smooth side that looks like it's made of little 'v's, the wrong side will be the knobbly back.

k is knit a stitch k2 together is knit 2 stitches together usually to shape whatever it is your knitting p is purl a different type of stitch which when used with the ordinary k stitch gives you a pattern ,the wrong side is the inside of whatever garment you are knitting and all the joining up knots should be here for a neater look. goood luck !!
