I take exception to your premise. Kelly Clarkson is great? Who? When I think of musical greatness, I think of Led Zeppelin, Elton John, Stevie Ray Vaughan and even (though they aren't of my generation) Green Day, Hinder, etc. One must distinguish being a good musician from being a commercially successful musician. But to each his own, I guess.
