We bought a front loading Whirlpool Duet about a year ago and I really like it...clothes cleaner,,less wear...and they dry faster than in my old top loaders...plus our water bill has gone down due to front loaders using less ...had a Maytag and hated it from day one.. have had Sears and Whirlpool in the past and had good use from all of them... lots of good ones now.. it just depends on your needs...you can go to the library and check back issues of Consumer Reports for specifics on brands and features you might like..

I just bought the Whirlpool front loading Duet washer also. LOVE IT!
It's actually fascinating to watch as it does all kinds of strange gyrations! haha. (Whirlpool should create a television commercial with a woman sitting on the floor with a glass of wine, watching the clothes wash!)
It uses so much less water, Is super-quiet, has large capacity and the white-white cycle is exactly that!
The other great thing about this washer is the "spin options". Items come out wet-damp and take less time to dry.

Whirlpool is a tough brand to beat,they last for years !!
