I've heard that Windows XP requires more memory than other O/Ss for a faster, more efficient performance. If I had more user accounts, will it reduce the memory and affect the overall performance of my computer?

Adding a user account does take up more space on your C: as it basically makes another copy of windows for the other person to use. Since only one user is on the PC at a time, It just don't matter as long as you have enough space on your C: to partition the user accounts.

Yes. Most PCs with XP chew up huge amounts of Resources. More user accounts make no difference, especially on a network, but on a Local Setup, it can make some difference because of the ability to have multiple uses logged on at exactly the same time... you can literally alternate between one or more users logged on. I would get at least 2 Gig for any PC with XP, and more if you can afford it and your system can tolerate it.

Hi,

I agree with you that windows takes huge memory while processing a task, because it is a resource hungry OS in this world. Check this website hope this will give you a fair concept on this topic. Good Luck!!!

If multiple accounts are active at the same time, yes, but not if only one account is active at a time.
