You can do all of that. Before you do, though, there is a new book out called "Independent Film Distribution: How to Make a Sucessful End Run Around the Big Guys" by Phil Hall. I bought this for my friend who produces independent films for Christmas. He said it was great. The book got perfect 5 stars already on Amazon (based on 8 reviews as of today). This book explains all of the options you have these days in marketing independent films, including all of the new trends, whether you seek a distribution deal or want to self-distribute.

Kind of a silly question as a film is a film. It doesn't have to be a big blockbuster to be good. A film is the progression of an idea put into a story from a certain person prospective. Be it independent or studio it being good has nothing to do with how much money was spent on making it or whether or not the stars make millions or a few thousand to make the film. A good film is just that a good film
