It's about time we had a woman president. Women have been and are CEOs of major companies and have shown themselves to be fiscally responsible and strong leaders. What a lot of people don't like about Hillary Clinton is that she is a strong woman who speaks her mind and that turns off not only a lot of women, but men also. She's eminently qualified - probably more so than most of the Democratic candidates, or Republican ones for that matter - but a lot of people don't like her. Just read some of the answers you've gotten for this question. If she were to turn out to be half the President her husband was, she'd be outstanding. But, when all is said and done, the nomination will go to a rich, white, male and it will be more of the same old nonsense we've had for years. Personally, I'd vote for her without giving it a second thought.

I don't think it will be because she is a woman. The truth is most people do not agree with her positions. New York is not representative of the views of the entire country.
No Democratic Presidential candidate has received a decisive majority of the popular vote since 1964. And LBJ was riding the coattails of sympathy for Kennedy not to mention his team had no problem painting Goldwater as some sort of doomsday device. Bill Clinton, who is all too often praised as being some sort of immensely popular figure, never received a majority. Carter had less than 51% of the popular vote. Gore did have more votes than Bush but it was still less than 50%. When you really examine the numbers no Democrat has really won a convincing majority since FDR.
Hilary may win the nomination but as has been the case for a very long time in this country the majority of Americans do not vote for Democrats. That is really going to be the reason she does not become president in 2008.

I’ve have been given not something against a female being president yet i might in no way vote for Hilary because of the fact she is only for ability and not for the greater beneficial good, notwithstanding invoice might surely be an incredible first female. There has have been given to be greater women folk deserving of the placement.

It certainly doesn't help her, does it? People joke about Bill Clinton being the first lady, which doesn't happen with a male candidate. She has more experience than Edwards, but people say she is more unqualified. But, it also doesn't help that many didn't like her as first lady, & didn't want her to be so active. She was the first working first lady, and now people are OK with that (everyone after her has worked), but didn't like it so much in 92. I don't think any men who behave like she does get half the flack.

I don't think most men would vote for a female president. Maybe a lot of women will but that's not enough. She's popular now so she might have a chance. There's a greater number of women who vote, too. Maybe she will be the first.

If women stand together for once instead of most of them voting the way there husbands or fathers tell them to vote then Hilary stands a good chance of winning.

Do you really want a woman who wouldn't divorce her cheating, low-life husband to be the president of the most powerful country in the world? She won't get the nomination, because she is weak and no one really knows where she stands on the issues. She was for the war in Iraq, then she was against it. To me that is just scary. I want someone who is strong! Obviously she is weak. She let Bill run all over her and she took it. Not presidential material!

That's the only reason I would vote for her, because she is a woman.

Maybe she will become president because she is the only one that has ever ran so maybe she will become the first women.

No, she won't even get the nomination because she's too polarizing.
I'm voting Edwards in the primaries...
