It' has been this way for 2 month.s My nails have been splitting. By splitting I mean like an upper layer is splitting from a lower layer of my nail. It's not on the whole nail. It is actually when i start growing them out that happens

Your problem is probably caused by the lack of Calcium or vitamins.
The product I would recommend to you is a product by NeoStrata, it's called NeoCeuticals and it works magic.

my nails use to do the same thing.. and everyone told me to drink more milk. well i did and nothing happened. but i started drinking a lot of orange juice with 100% vitamin c in it and my nails are so much strong and haven't spilt since!

There is nothing wrong with your nails - just don't grow them too long. few mm is ok but not 1-2 inches, they will start peeling like you said.

THAT means your hitting something to hard with your nails or their growing.

go somewhere where they paint nails.surely enough,you can ask them why your nails do that.Usaully its beacuse you dont get enough supply of fresh fruits each day.

take vitamins and it will fix everything! mine used to do that too. it also helps if you get a 4-sided buffing block [check meijers or soemthing]

well i have that same problom and i hate it but i htink it because of all the sports i play!
