The Planet or Human Comforts?

Question

What should come first? Saving our planet by reducing the amount of carbon we produce, or allowing us humans to continue to live in the comfort and life styles we have become acusomed to. For example do we need street lights in all our villages and cities to burn all night or should they be turned off between the hours of say 01AM to 06AM when most people are asleep

Only us humans think we have some control over nature
we might have some short time effect but nature will overcome all our efforts in the long time as where only going to be on earth for a blink of an eye lid

I think the choice has already been made, and we are all about to pay the price. As the number of people on the planet increase, the negative environmental impact increases. People everywhere just keep having more and more kids without any thought to natural resource depletion. Is it possible to have too many gold fish is a 5 gallon tank? Three fish, and no problem. 50 fish in the same bowl, and you've got quite a mess on your hands. The same can be said about our planet. The population increases faster and faster, soon we will all be very uncomfortable swimming in our own waste.

Well of course, the planet comes first. But neither you or I wants to give up things like: air-conditioning,cars, big screen tv's, etc.

So, we Americans will go on as usual, until something makes us behave in a more ecological way.

In response to the street light question: many people drive to work at night, also there's the matter of crime.(though not too much a problem in small cities).

ITs all subjective really. we will as a species inevitbly become extinct.wheather we try to save the planet now or in 10-20 years time.
