If you get a ged and go to college and everything, does it matter when you get a job later in life if you dont have a high school diploma?

Absolutely not, all that really matters is that you graduated from college. Many state higher education facilities often have an open door policy for those with GED's. That is, you can be admitted into college on a probationary basis to see if you can do college level work. When it comes to job applications though always make sure that you put GED for name of the high school so that you do not fib on the application. I dropped out of high school in the middle of my sophomore year because I had to support myself. Today, I have a Master's degree. Go for it all the way! Good luck.

Depends on your field of work, most places only ask the question but never actually verify the answer, and a GED is suppose to be the equivalent to a high school diploma, there are very successful, business oriented, and other people that work in the professional industry that have neither a high school diploma or a GED, and have done well, so its not just having a GED or diploma, its also based on how you excel in what you do.

GED is treated like a high school diploma. May jobs actually like that better because they know you tried really hard to get it and will appreciate a well paying job.

A GED is the same as a diploma. Thats why it is called the equivalent. If you are ever asked if you have a HS diploma or the equivalent your answer only needs to be, "yes!" No explanation.

I also have one. It's the same. As long as you have one or the other, you should have no problem getting a job or attending college. Best Of Luck.
