I'm a new mam with a 4 month old baby, so I don't get much time to myself. I'm going to a wedding in May and I would like to either or and lose my baby weight and tone up by then. I've got no confidence to go to the gym by myself. I have a few pieces of exercise equipment but no motivation. I have also recently been diagnosed with an serverly under active thyroid. Any tips, ideas anything to do with anything mentioned above would be a great help.

You should be getting treatment for your underactive thyroid...if not go and see the doctor and ask why not!
Look at the GI Diet by Rick Gallop. Its easy to use and will be easy to fit into your routine as a busy mum. You will lose well with it (I have lost 5 stone in 6 months) but 4 stone by May is a bit of a high expectation. I do walking for my exercise, I havnt yet joined a gym and I dont have any exercise equipment at home. Be strict with yourself, choose a time of day when things are quieter and do as much as you can. start low and work up sensibly otherwise you will ache and not continue with it.
Motivation is difficult, it will vary for each person. Mine is clothes. Being very overweight I have never had a good selection of clothes. My friend works in a clothes shop and gets a big discount and has got me new clothes as I have lost weight. When I get into the clothes she gets me a new lot and will get one "special" outfit which she knows I will really like. That one outfit is my motivation to get down to that size. I am presently working towards a beautiful faux suede soft green skirt suit :D
I also have the motivation to keep my blood sugar under control (being diabetic).
Good luck, I hope what I have said will help you in some small way;

Hmmm difficult one. I have an under-active thyroid (am currently pregnant with third child) Up until i was diagnosed (didnt get it until a few years ago) Id always been about 8 stone. Im now 11 and have been told that any weight I gain during pregnancy will only be lost afterwards with severe determination and lots of exercise. I Guess its because us unfortunate people with the disease have not got the same metabolisism as ordinary people so cant burn fat off so easily. I know it'll be hard to go to the gym but i reakon it may be your best bet and perhaps also a high protein diet for a few months (check with your doc though if you are breastfeeding) Goodluck hun, know my answers not much comfort but there are others who know what its like!!!!

I was diagnosed with an under active thyroid in 1993, since then I have had to take thyroxine tablets ( 3x50 Mg ) per day and I have not lost any weight at all. Whether your age will make a difference or not I don't' know but if you've recently had a baby, I'm guessing that you are at least 45 yrs younger than me. I do hope you achieve your weight loss goal. good luck !!!

Well Ive just stared a diet to get rid of my weight gain through pregnancy, like you, i would not like to go to the gym alone. The diet im doing is a liquid diet, you do it for 100 days ,everything you eat basically has to be blized up into a soup form, after the 100 days you eat normally for 1 month and after this if you feel the need to do it again you can, Ive been doing it for 6 weeks how and have lost nearly a stone.
I first heard about this diet on the tv programe loose women, colleen nolan had done it and she is half the size she was, she looks great.
We have nothing to loose by trying different things, good luck.

I hope that the Dr. has you on Thyroid medication, this will help take the weight off.
If you want to help speed up the weight loss program, limit your carb intake to 20 a day, or less. You don't have to starve yourself, in fact its better if you don't. Just eat plenty of protein, eggs, meat, cheese. The most important thing of course, is to drink plenty of water. If you don't have enough water, you won't loose weight.
P.S. You will find, that by the third day of this new way of eating, you will have an enormous amount of energy.
Good luck, this has worked great for me.

Thyroid disease is one of the most common health problems we face today. From a practical standpoint, there are many ways to approach this issue. Learn here https://tr.im/QpsMI

Hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid, is a very common problem, and there are many reasons for this, including drinking chlorinated and fluoridated water, and eating brominated flour.

Chlorine, fluoride, and bromine are all in the same family as iodine, and can displace iodine in your thyroid gland.

Secondly, many people simply aren't getting enough iodine in their diet to begin with. The amount you get from iodized salt is just barely enough to prevent you from getting a goiter.
