As a retailer ,I have a store in a busy shopping mall.2 things come to mind
1)mall security is usually done by people who are not really looking for terrorist activity
2) the malls are PACKED at Christmas. This combined with my first reason seem to make them a ridiculously easy target.
And yet nothing ever happens
So if these supposed terrorist are so clever ,why do they overlook this golden opportunity?

hopeful.........what about all these sleeper cells?
Do you think it would be a waste of time forfor them ?Cripes 10 malls hit on Christmas eve would kill the retail season in this country.
Not clever?Hell they did 9/11 and fooled a multi trillion dollar defense system.Thats clever .....

No, it's not over rated, this kind of thinking is dangerous and just what they are looking for. A crowded mall at Christmas or any other time is going to tick people off but not make a big enough impact for all the time and energy it would take to pull it off. They aren't clever at all it's just we provide them with the opportunity when we let our guard down. Right now Bush has succeeded in keeping them out of the country and as long as he is in power they won't come in but once out it will take a president like him to continue with his same stance.

No Terrorism is not over rated. Ask the UK, France, Russia,China, Indonesia, Thailand, Spain, Israel and others who have had attacks. Keep in mind that the terrorist are small groups who claim to be fighting for their cause under and God. When in fact they are small groups they have limited resources and movement and do not really represent the majority of their people or race. At this time it is easy for them to travel in other countries and blend in and the cost is lower. I think that there will be more attacks on our soil ...... when is anyone's guess.
If you will think about all the things that has changed since 911 the terrorist has made an impact to all of our lives, plan travel is a hassle, security cameras everywhere now, police have the right to arrest at will under the Home Land Act, phone tabs, e-mail checks we are no longer the land of the free. They have accomplished some of their goals... what have we accomplished with them ?? Getting a president who is a dictator a government that wants to rule us when we are suppose to be the boss.

What bothers me is the Oklahoma incident by a US citizen and my English friend telling me that home terrorism has been happening in the UK forever.

Politicians and economists are surprised that there isn't really much home terrorism in the US by our own people.

I would be much more concerned about our future generations inflicting a kind of terrorism on ourselves than the people far away in countries defined as economically unstable and war zones.

I think we do need to beef up National Security while we create relationships with world leaders that are open to communication and understanding. But, this will be a long, long while because as in Rome... our government rulers are corrupt, and we are going to fall.

I really didn't want to touch this subject because it's a very uncomfortable and sad situation we are all in right now. I'm hoping our troops can come home and this nightmare will end. But, it won't.

Our troops will eventually come home, but we have an economic debt in our country that we've just inflicted on our great grandchildren. We are in grave trouble, not from terrorists, but from our economy crashing.

We will be the next third world country and the only way we will survive is through China's rule. They will take over because they are surpassing us in the world economy.

That is the most obvious question in the World that all these spastics who believe in the terrorism nonsense do not ask themselves.

How hard would it be for Al Qaeida (remember them?) to smuggle a few suicide bombers over the mexican border? And they don't even need a bomb, guns are so freely available in the states. Then they walk into your mall and start killing.

Why aren't we seeing this from people who are so good they can violate the best defended airspace in the World 3 times in the same day?

I totally agree. People are now undressing in airports to look for hidden bombs or drugs and such.. How rediculous? People think that the more security the more safety? Not happening. We'll all end up naked soon! A complete joke.. Things happen when we least expect it and look, even when we do expect it what do the superior people like president Bush do? Nothing. Nada.
so sad :/

Of course it is but not everyone realizes it. I don't worry about terrorists at all and never have. Everything our government is doing right now is meant to keep people scared, submissive, obedient, etc. and it's working on the weaker-minded.

You obviously don't live in Israel. Of course the risk to any particular place at any particular time is miniscule, but the cumulative risk isn't. It's a matter of statistics.

so true.
like the only place a terror act will take place is near an airplane? People need to really start thinking about the real threats, like the ones coming from the Bush Adm.
