It is a heterosexual man who dresses and grooms himself more like a woman traditionally does-- fashionable clothes, facials, pedicures, manicures, waxing away unwanted hair. And I've heard it's kind of going out of style. Manly, burly, and hairy is coming back! (Yes!)

I believe the word came into use during the infamous "Sex & the City" tv show. It describes someone like the character Mr. Big. He was straight, but what my Mama would call a 'pretty boy'--way too concerned about how he looked, wears only expensive clothes like Armani, etc. Probably a gay guys' fantasy of Mr. Right.
I'm with the poster who likes big, burly, real men.
But they never went outta style in my book, anyway

It is a guy who is fashionable, knows what's in style, looks awesome in in style clothes. It is not someone who is gay. He just knows what the current fashions are and still is straight.
