Is there a way to play animal crossing on wifi without a friend code or do u have to have one cause i cant?

I think I might need a friend code but im not sure. I want to play it and its geting boring to play the normal game but if thats the case that you have to use friend codes then post em along with your feed back. mine is

No you do not need a friend code. you should go onto nintendowifi.com and that site will give step by step with out useing a friend code
