Thailand is our country. We are Thais. Thai flag has three colors: red, white and blue. Red means our Nation. White means our religion. Blue means our King. Our religion is Buddhism. Most Thais are Buddhists. Some are Christians and Muslims. Our King and Queen are the most beloved ones in our country.

I'm going to assume that English is not your first language.

I am also going to assume that you do not teach in English, but are only using English to communicate here in yahoo answers.

With this in mind, I'm sorry to tell you that it's impossible to answer your question. As someone who deals with "critical thinking" on a regular basis, I would love to help you. But unfortunately, I don't understand your question...

Critical thinking requires the student to use information or experience apart from an answer that could be memorized. Essay questions in social science require critical thinking because one must take the information a step further than memorizing facts. For example: How does global warming affect you as an individual?
Your additional details involve information that is more likely to be the answer to an objective question rather than subjective and therefore very difficult to form into critical thinking exercises. There may be information available to the students to explain why most people are Buddhist while less are Christian or Muslim. That would require critical thinking. If there are circumstances that explain why the royalty is so beloved then that could be critical thinking.

Easy. Now relax and take a deep breath.

The question is: Why are teenagers choosing to cut/slash/self-mutilate themselves in 2006/2007, and why is suicide the leading cause of death among teenagers?

1. Are these children simply spoiled?
2. Does access to the best technology in the world causing them to be frustrated with their human qualities?
3. Are these teens doing what is popular and is in "emo" music?
4. Are these teens being left behind - and what about that promise of "no child left behind"?
5. Are these the teens that were warehoused in daycare centers, and were in rooms that had 25 children with only 2 daycare workers to care for them? So did they sit in their dirty diapers, and were they left to cry.
Just think 25 children x 10 minutes to change them 1x per day = 250 minutes/60 minutes to 1 hour = 4.15 hours just to change 25 children once per day.
How about feeding them, and then changing them again? So you can see why they may be left to scream and cry in dirty diapers.

6. Then did these children become "latchkey" kids who came home on the bus from school to an empty house, because they have a working single parent, or two working parents?

7. Then did these children get an early attachment to video and computers?

8. Are these the children that feel basically unloved, and unworthy of love, and feel they have no where to turn?

9. Are these children lonely?

10. What can be done to help our teens in 2007?

Now if that's not critical thinking with real problems, then what is?

GOD bless us, one and all.

And I know about this problem because my only child is in counseling because I saw tons of scars last August 2006 from her slashing herself. However she announced that she does not have this addiction because she has perfectly cured herself.
Now that's a whole other thesis.

I am assuming English is not your native language. As for your question, ask questions with more than one possible answer, so that they have to be creative in order to give an answer.

Don't use questions that can be answered as "yes" or "no." It would be best if there was more than one correct answer. The better the students explain how they figured it out, the more points they get.

If we knew the topic, maybe we could have helped you with the questions? Your request for help is therefore not possible since your question is vague. Lesson No 1: Your questions should not be framed like the one above!!
