My tortoise used to like tomato's they have a strong smell and contain moisture to help hydrate, but you can try any cooked or raw vegetables, cooked peas were another favourate. Also good idea to keep her awake this year and than make sure next year she is the correct weight before sleeping, however my tortoise is about 60 ish and just does not eat sufficient to hibernate ever, you may have the same problem with yours as she has never hibernated before.

If I have been you i'd introduce new foods in conjunction with an historical one he recognises so it's not quite one of these undertaking and make sure you are eating the equal (or at least it looks the equal) with him as whether or not or now not you are eating it makes a huge change to how good your children eat new foods. Make new principles as regards treats and tea time and anything you do don't undertake the 'good they failed to devour their tea so i'm going to provide them crisps' hobbies-that is a certain fireplace solution to make certain that you have a fussy eater for the next 18yrs! Encourage him to choose one unusual fruit or veg at the grocery store while you're browsing on the basis that you'll be able to cook dinner it for tea/pudding as a snack later. If he won't devour the entire new meals do not make a big fuss-he just has to check out it to qualify for pudding (or whatever) and despite the fact that he says he would not love it maintain re-introducing it because it takes an average of seeing a new food 5 times before a child accepts it as a normal food. If he would not are attempting the new meals then there is no snacks unless the subsequent meal-make it a clear rule and stick to IT. The essential factor is that you just mustn't give up manipulate to him as at three he'll study very swiftly that Mummy will again off if I make enough fuss/play up lengthy enough. It is rough but it surely works-and it can work lots turbo than you count on on a 3yr historic-in spite of his cussed streak! Oh, and do not forget to 'sell' it to them with tons of 'ooh beautiful' at the same time you are consuming it and 'it's yummy is not it?' when they are trying some (you sound like a loony however hello, when it really works it really works).

Well mine loves Watercress and Cabbage.
Try to avoid Lettuce, exspecially iceberg as this is of no nutritional value.
Opt for greens such as Kale, Cucumber, Cabbage, Watercress.
Thinly sliced Carrot, Tomatoes, slices of Apple, and Pears are all good.
But the diet should be at least 80% greens.
The dandelion leaves are great! But if you pick these from the wild just make sure you check for pesticides or pest sprays.
If this isn't any help try looking on google for 'Tortoise Diets' you should find one that tells you what they can and can't eat.
Good luck :]

Try buying a bag of mixed frozen veggies and let them thaw. You can see what kind of veggies out of the mix your tortoise chooses then buy only those. Greens are a must, the darker the better. Try spinache, collard greens and mustard greens. Kale was a favorite of my tortoise as well as tomatoes like everyone on here has mentioned- very healthy.

If worst comes to worst, you can buy dry dog food and soften it with V8 juice, this will also stimulate appitite and it is nutritious.
