I think they are both talented actors. But Uma is my choice but only for now.

Liv Tyler doesn't take a lot of chances or challenges in the parts she plays. Her "keepers" know she has a nice body and pretty face and they rely on that more than her performances. Basically I feel like they pose her for scenes and limit what she can do with the performance in order to keep her pristine looks. As she matures she'll get the courage to take more chances and will probably be one of the best actresses in Hollywood. It's going to take awhile though and probably a regime change amoug her keepers.

Uma Thurman I feel is more dedicated to the craft and profession of acting. She'll take risks and challenge herself in a role. She's not afraid to do a scene with her hair out of place and showing blemishes. But she can afford to do this because she doesn't really have any security to lose.

I think Uma is a better known actress than Liv, but I have seen more of Liv's movies and she has a lot of range and depth to her roles.

liv is definitely the better actress, she is more dramatic and convincing, but uma is better in comedies. so i guess both of them are great, but as far as acting goes, liv is better.
