She has had a reoccuring UTI and kidney infection since October. It gets all better and then gets worse again. She thinks that sex may be the cause. Do I carry the bacteria or would I be in as much pain as she is if I did?

She needs to be sure and go to bathroom and relieve her bladder after intercourse.....it helps...A lot won't do this and end up with what we at the docs office call "honeymoon" cystitis...or vacation UTI.....If she still keeps getting them she may need to be on a one pill antibiotic nightly prescribed by her doctor for a long period of time to break the cycle of the infections

You can carry this and not even know it or have symptoms.
Your a really nice guy to care about your girl friend. If she had the UTI and you have had unprotected sex, you are probably passing the bacteria back and forth. You both need to be treated

It could be many things...
1. She had some type of infection and passed it to you and you are passing it back to her....

OR

2. You two arent being very clean while you are having sex.

OR

3. She is wiping the wrong way.

If you are taking the proper precautions when having sex and making sure you are both clean and she wipes the right way, I would suggest going to the doc with her and have you both go on antibiotics together.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

that could be one of the causes only. be sure when you have sex see to it that you are clean, free from sweat in ur sex organ and area around it. Germs or bacteria like to stay in moist areas causing easy contamination. Irritation could also cause it. Be gentle. No hard pushing... lol.

like what everyone else said, she needs to go to the restroom after sex. my doctor told me also to never hold in my urine, because that too will effect my body. have her to also start drinkin or takin cranberry juice/pills. i take mine daily and have not had a uti in a very long time.

If you are her or messing around on each other that could have something to do with that. Maybe if that is not the case, she probably isn't drinking enough water or fluids. She don't need to be drinking any drinks. Both of you should go to a doctor.
