I have a medium size lump on my head that hurts when I touch it. I haven't hit my head on anything in the past month or so and I am starting to worry.. what do you think it is and what should I do?

try your best to remember. even the littlest hit could have made it, if you know 100% that it just grew on its own, then look at the size if its a big lump like very big then i would advice you to go to a hospital or wait maybe 3 more days, if it is still there with no sign of going away after the three days or if it grows then i would highly recommend that you tell a doctor about this or some one in the medical fields

It's possible you injured yourself and didn't realize it or that you have a cyst. A cyst is usually not a big deal at all but it's important that you call your doctor (right now) and schedule an appointment with him. Take note of any changes that occur with the lump between since you noticed it and the doctor's appointment and let him or her know that you don't recall having hit your head.

That's called a brain. If you get a divorce, it will stop hurting. Seriously though, go to the doctor now! Encouraging information is that it seems to be located below the skin and not inside the skull, and that it hurts. It could be as simple as a cyst which can usually be taken out at the doctors office.

if it hurts, i bet it's an abcess. perhaps an ingrown hair follicle got infected. an abcess will usually need to get what's known as an "I+D", or "incision and drainage". a doctor would just make a tiny incision with a small scalpel or maybe just a needle, and let the pus drain out. giving antibiotics may not help because abcesses have no blood vessels in them, so the antibiotics wouldn't be able to get to the infected site via the bloodstream.

How big is medium sized? If you can't see it, it could feel larger than it actually is. It could be a boil from an impacted hair folicle. It could be an unknown twin. See a doctor if you want to know for sure.

is there anything you could have hit your head on when you're asleep? or a time when you were in a hurry and wouldn't have noticed? that could be it. if it doesn't clear up in a reasonable amount of timethen you should probably see a doctor.

It sounds like sebaceous cyst! Go to your doctors he will advise you, They can pop on there own too, the pain will be because It purely shouldn't be there, sebaceous cysts are caused by either a blockage in the hair follicle or an infected one!

You have to go see a Doctor ASAP! It may be something harmless and benign or NOT.

Either way, it needs to be examined by a medical professional.

you should definet4ely go to the doctor and tell him about it. It could possibly be a gland that is sticking out because that happened to me before and it was a little painful
