Maybe people do, but in just different ways of loving someone or something. You don't love our mother the same way you would love a long time boyfriend/girlfriend. You can fall in love with the same sex, its just not accepted in society so not all people are open to admitting it. And as far as species lol i dont know what to tell you........Take care.

Well, you _could_ fall in love with someone of the same gender, if you fall in that 10% of the population.

The sort of "falling in love" that we usually talk about has a definite sexual element. That's the difference between love for your spouse and love for your baby, and thank heavens. There's a reason the incest taboo is the only truly universal one, and let's not even talk about the goats.

However, I think it is possible to have the rest of the falling in love feelings. My friends and I have a term, "platonic crush". Ever meet someone really, really awesome, and you really want to be their friend and hang out all the time? But you don't actually want to sleep with them? Yeah, platonic crush. Sometimes, those crushes develop into lasting, deep friendships, just like with real love. Just because I'm not physically attracted to those friends doesn't mean that I don't feel as deeply for them as I would for a guy I've been with as long.

Love also takes communication which cannot truly happen between an adult and a baby or an animal. Parents love their babies, but as far as loving them in a marriage sort-of way it cannot happen.

Someone of the same sex is a different story. I believe love knows no gender. It does know the boundries of age, but homosexual relationships are totally normal as far as I am concerned.

Besides what you feel in your heart, there are laws against "loving" an animal or a child in the way you are probably referencing.

In what way are you defining love, the emotional variety or the sexual kind?

Love of a baby or child is a natural emotion as we are one of the few species willing to raise babies and children not our own. If you are talking about physical love then you are not talking about love but a need to take advantage of another person. A baby or child is not emotionally equipped to consent to such an act, it is a violation and as such is rape. Obviously a person who would even contemplate such and act is emotionally stunted and requires help.

Love of an animal is an emotion we all feel because like a baby it is unconditional. We also derive a physical aspect to it, in the act of petting an animal we release electrons from their fur which ionizes the air in their immediate area and we respond to this. Do they reciprocate this love, not in the way we understand, they treat us a membr of their species who provides food and security to them and yes even affection. But on the physical level there is no consent to any act beyond a mutual affection and need.

Yes you can love someone of the same sex and even enjoy the physical kind when that person is old enough to consent to the act. But like any love it is wrong if it is not consensual and mutually agreed upon, otherwise it is rape. Societies view of homosexuality is misguided at best because it is tainted by misinformation and lies. The religous right would have you believe that all pedophiles are homosexual, this has been shown to be untrue as most pedophiles are straight and are acting on a need to hold power over someone not emotionally equipped to consent or fight back. They really don't care about the sex of the victim it is the feeling of power that excites them. It is why the wives of pedophiles know about what is going on but are emotional victims themselves. Homosexuality is an everyday occurance in the animal kingdom and seems to be prevalent in mamallian societies.

So as to your question why can't you fall in love with a baby, an animal or someone of the same sex, you can if it is the proper form of love, but if you are talking about loving in the physical sense then you are not talking consensual love but of rape. And even I will side with society in condemning this.

You *can* fall in love with a baby and animal or someone of the same sex...Love is love.

Now if you are talking about a 'sexual relationship' with the above....I only approve of someone of the same sex, as long as they are of a reasonable age to have a sexual relationsship with. Cant have a sexual relationship with a baby, they can not give concent back, neither can an animal.
