Okay heres how it is i am 16 year old girl i live with my mom. I am a freindly person the things is everytime i smile at another girl like a freindly smile such as a girl the is a waistress or anywhere i go at that matter. Girls give me attitude looks sometimes the even smile at me in like a sexual way and fling there hair there with guy all the time and nexed to him so oviously not lesbo or bi. Can someone please tell me why it always gotta be about ccompetition between wemon? How come all wemon alike just imbrase there buety rather then getting snooty when they think another chick is better looking then them. Or when they see a girl who they think is not as attractive then them how come they have to put them down? I am very freindy person and wanna know why my freindliness is payed back by wemon in a rude way. I have yet to see another girl be freindly to me.

The reason why is probably because they hatin because they jelous of you because you look good. Or they could be gay and want to do a little somethin somethin.

All it is is jealousy. From a guy's point of view woman are very inferior. It's like they always have something to prove to not only other woman but men also. I'm not trying to sound sexist but woman are always trying to show up other woman in any way. Generally speaking, because not all woman do these kind of things. Just the majority. Don't take it personally when another woman doesn't smile back and gives you a rude look, because all it boils down to is jealousy and insecurities. Take pride in the fact of knowing that you are deep down a good person and knowing that it's a personal inner issue with the other woman giving you a dirty look!

I think it stems from insecurity.
The waitress has no excuse, tho', I'd withhold the tip if she can't be polite ('returning a smile' is in that category). If she was really cold/abrupt, she'd have to explain where the salt and pepper shakers went...(kidding).
I'm outgoing, I greet people and start conversations with strangers in public places (in lines or shopping), make wisecracks about interesting situations or simply put a question to someone nearby. I live in Santa Cruz, California, and my actions are pretty common. When someone gives a cold shoulder, I can let it go ("o-o-o-kay"), but I see you're facing bad odds in this scenario.
Don't let it get to you. The false front people use to cover their insecurities (low self esteem, jealousy, anger, toughness, etc.) will continue to fail them: their character defects will remain until something occurs to make them take note (an event, or, eventually, growing up more), after which they'll have something to reflect on and apply as a learning experience. OR, they'll go to their grave being horses' patooties.
Be your wonderful self, let your light shine, refuse to take it personally, and come to Santa Cruz, where you can experience a higher level of consciousness in the general public (well, we do have our share of horses' patoots, but they're OUTNUMBERED, hahahaha).

Women are the most concerned about the looks on the planet ok honey. Dont listen to these people i know your a pretty person!! Now when a girl sees another girl like in the mall for example no matter what race they look at each other in envy because girls are just like that before we even know another girl we say in our heads "oh im better looking than her, or eww look at her hair its disgusting mine is way better looking". Women LOVE to compare each other. Another thing if you smile at a waitress there is nothing wrong with that you are being polite. I've done it and they get much nicer and get better tips. Some girls think that if another girl looks at you are smiles they automaticly think you are gay, because in the USA thats how things are portrayed. This is why so many teens are afraid to come out or show there true selves. I know you arent gay, if you are thats FINE with me! Just remember what i said :) All these other answers-FORGET THEM!!

the games have changed since you were younger and the world wanted you to see it as a friendly place. a waitress is probably naturally not afraid to be nice to a little kid, but when she sees someone she doesnt want to get to know, shes rude.
people will mature. the best place to meet friendly people is in a church or some activity-based place. not school. not on the street. thats just the way the world is.
ps. maybe it has to do with the things you wear? girls judge that wayyy too quickly.

I agree with you. A lot of women do put up a defense and show their insecurities around other women. I just keep smiling, and I compliment something about them. Just ignore the snooty ones or start up a conversation with them ~ They'll drop that attitude within seconds.

because your 16 yrs old a bit insecure about your self, you just can't find your place in school. just don't worry so much about all the other dirty looks girls so much and focus on your studies. i know high school can be a lot pressure socially. once your out of there life gets better specially if you did good in school got good grades so you can get a good job making a lot of money

b/c girls now a days think that by looking at u hard or with an attitude they are actully causing some serious damage. what u need to do is brush it off your shoulder and keep it moving b.c once they see it dun bother u than they will try to talk to you and become ur friend.

i think it skill they hate them. i comprehend this female who's consistently giving me grimy seems around the lecture room and he or she is often attempting to make me look undesirable. i did not do something to her however.
