Can't we just agree that not all nations will ever be democracies and try to accomodate the people who choose to live differently?

If they're choosing to live that way.. it essentially is a democracy. The problem is these people are not choosing.. it's being imposed on them.

Democracy does not work in all societies. There have been very few up until the nineteenth century. Democracy is a relatively new concept in government, and is not perfect in any country. Some societies are not capable of governing themselves. A ruler, whether he is elected, or obtains power by some other means has the responsibility for the welfare of his people. Some people want it this way. Even so, I believe a tyrant should be removed and a people should not have to suffer under him.
