In our own galaxy alone there are about 100 billion stars; 20% to 50% have 1 to 5 planets; let's say 100 billion planets per galaxy.

At an estimated 100 billion galaxies in the observable universe, there are about 100 * 10^11 * 100 * 10^11 = 10^26 planets.

That's 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets

I think subtracting one (earth) is pointless...

There are a total of 7 planets in our solar system excluding Earth.
Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Pluto has recently been "demoted" and is no longer officially a planet.

There are 10 planets including earfth and excluding Pluto. There were 2 new planets discovered beyond Pluto and were given names (can't remember them). There is the Planet X that's being considered as its within our solar system somewhere.

We only know of nine other planets in our solar system Excluding earth. although i think Eris is an extremely new planet. This idea is strengthened by the fact that Mayan and Inca maps show our solar system coming in> from outer space rather than using the sun
