You can be accused of spamming the search engines, and even banned from submissions, by posting your site too often (once per month is adequate) or thru doorway pages...Most messageboards that allow commercial ads (not all do) will have a section set aside for that purpose, and a commercial message anywhere else on the boards is spam.

A few people have attempted to spam these answer boards with commercial ads disguised (not too well) as questions.

This was later translated by the internet persons (GEEKS), who were also known for their love of monty python, to discribe the over abondance of the unwanted e-mail and advertiesments on the web.
