When I got my horse, she was left out in a pasture 24-7 by her old owners.. I don't think they ever stabled her. Naturally, when I brought her home, I wanted to ensure that the best care was provided, so in bad weather, etc, she was in her stall.
Well, then the bad vices developed. She often kicked the stall door, trampled anyone in her way when the door was opened, and a little bit of weaving.
I went out and bought her a jolly ball, and a lik-it-apple-hanging-treat thing. She liked them at first, but the jolly ball scared her and she ate the lik-it thing within one day so that didn't work.
I was looking in State Line Tack and found the "Pas-A-Fier" which is apple scented and has a little roller thing.. and I also found the "Amazing Graze" where you put treats in it, (apples, carrots, horse cookies, etc) and it dispenses treats. To find these, you can look at www.statelinetack.com and find it on the website, or order the magazine (it's free) and these two items were on page 182.
Good luck and happy trails!

the horse needs companionship and activity. i have learned that keeping a horse stabled and not allowed to interact causes digestive and mental problems. its not healthy to keep stabled 24-7 or for long periods of time. let the horse be a horse. boredom is the key word here. having toys is fine but horses need to be able to graze and be out doors with others.

There are a number of Horse Toys available, however, if you have any pasture where you could turn her out, that would be best. Also, the more you work with her, the less bored she'll be. If you don't have access to pasture, just take her out more often even if it is just for a groooming. Any activity with her will help.

i know my horse really likes it if i'm at the stable everyday riding her. it gives her something to do but for someone with a crammed schedule i would sudjust maybe putting her into a stall with another horse that she gets along with well. every horse is different so you have to remember not all the advice you get will work. good luck!

you could get a sented jolly ball, a lick it treat thing that goes on the side of the stall, a ball or treat that hangs or hay. horses often get bored when they dont have something to eat so keeping hay in a hay net would be good.

positioned him out in a much bigger section. he's merely bored of his stall. yet there's a toy which you will positioned feed in and the pony rolls it around to get it out. Get him a chum according to probability. My horse Popeye that's eleven remains out interior the sphere with my 167 black angus cows.

well do you have other horses that she can hang around with?
if you do then let her out with them it will be very good for her to have other horse compainship.
if you don't then i sugest that you ride her at least twice a week , maybe more if you have the time, and change the places where you ride it will greatly help her bordoem.

one of the cheapest tricks i have used is taking a 2 litre pop bottle chopping some small holes in it filling it with bits of carrot or apple or just whatever your horse likes best and hanging it from the ceiling or wall of your horses stall

i use balls with my horses too but mine also love to play tug 'o war with a rope and roll a barrel around (not feasible in a stall i know) a plastic mirror on the wall is pretty funny if your horse thinks its beautiful. but i would also get him outside as much as possible. horses need lots of excercise. i knew a horse that would go "stall crazy" he would face the wall a spin his head around and around and around well you get the drift he eventually wound up hurting his owner after he tried to bolt from the stall when she led him out. horses need to run!
