However, stem cell research is indicating that they too may reproduce under certain conditions, but those conditions are not natural for it requires re-setting the cell's operons. Muscle cells are so specialized in function(G zero) that they are not set up to return to the cell cycle.

once muscle cells are mature, they do not divide. They only go through mitosis once and then are arrested when they get to interphase. The same happens for nerve cells as well

Skeletal muscle cells divide during development, but after they fuse into long muscle cells they are done dividing forever. Cardiac (heart) muscle cells cannot divide. Smooth muscle cells, like those that line blood vessels, can divide.

yes. all cells divide at one point or another b/c the yhad to have come from somewhere because the cell theory says that all cells come from other cells.

yes they do divide and grow ..that's how you grow muscles
