At 5'9 and 148 you should be a healthy size, and lucky you! The thing about muscle and fat is that muscle weighs more than fat. So you can actually lose the fat, which is bad for you, but weigh the same or a little more because you have muscle. It is healthier for you to have more muscle. The best way to tell if you are losing weight is to see how your clothes fit. The more fat, the tighter they will be. The more muscle, the more loose they will be.

Muscle weighs more than fat, but goodness, that's healthy weight. Additionally every 4 pounds of muscle added burns an additional 50 calories an hour(or so I recall) so that would make joining the ranks of the "obese" more difficult alone. For your height and weight you sound healthy. The exercise is good for you, obsessing about weight if you are an active teenager is not so good. Doesn't hurt to be conscious about your physical condition but please don't get caught up in a numbers game. I still can't decide if grossly obese is more unpleasant to look at than people who purge or suffer from the other spectrum of eating disorders. Health is beautiful. Be well.

Muscle ways more than fat. But if you have alot of fat and do not want it to turn all into muscle you need to loose that. Do at least 2 hors of cardio and and hour of weight training. Low weights alot of reps will help burn the fat and tone at the same time without building bulk.

Does it really matter what you weigh? If u work out youll gain weight mabey from muscles but youll look better. It doesnt matter how much you weigh. n the only reason u weigh 148 is cuz ur a tally lol

you will gain weight if you gain muscle.
but the amount you weigh barely ever has something to do with how you look; some people are just born with a heavy build.
(and if you want to lose weight- been there, done that! try paul mckenna's diet...really worked and really easy!)
good luck! :)

Ignore the numbers on the scale; if you're that active there is a good amount of muscle. Be content with your health, activity level, and stamina.
Society is so focused on numbers --- thank you Hollywood.
