I was told a long time ago of a college freshman who told his father he did not know wether he he himself were a democrat or a republican. The father mentioned some recent grades of his son's. You have an A in a few of your classes, I noticed. The son said yes. Did your roommate get the same grades? No replied the son. Why not? The son said that his roommate was always having fun and studied very little. The father asked what if the college took one of your A's and shared it with the roommate's C and brought his up to a B and brought yours down to a B. Then you would have the same grade and be equal. The son said, well that wouldn't be fair. The father said, welcome ot the republican party.

Any thoughts?

I like that little story quite a bit, Its kind of like when i get paid each week, I see 33% of my money TAKEN from me. then later in a store i can se a wellfare recipient use their money to buy lotto tickets and malt liqour. Just think how many unemployed alcoholics, drug addicts and gamblers are supported by your tax dollars. Think I'm full of it, ride by a government housing project. see what kind of vehicles are parked there. Watch in the grocery store what the people that use ebt cards put their stuff in. America is a mess of give aways and programs that dont motivate people to do anything, just rely on the system.

I have an average grade of 100, an A+, thanks to my God-given gifts & intellect. I only need to maintain a 90 to keep my scholarship and furthermy education.
My roommate, who has been struggling and putting forth the effort to achieve better results, is taking longer than normal to grasp the curriculum. He also has a scholarship, but will lose it if his average drops to below 80. He currently has a 75.

If given the opportunity, I would trade in 5 of my points to give him 5 points, so that he has some extra time to learn the material and get better.

Welcome to the Democratic Party.

It's not about giving away freebies to those that don't want to work for their rewards; it's about helping those that just need a little nudge.

And that roommate's name was George W. Bush. He went on to be President, because his father was President and he came from an aristocratic family.

The freshman worked hard, got good grades, and became an engineer whose job was outsourced to India where someone could be paid 5% of what earned.

Welcome to the Republican Party.
