trichotillomania. A friend had this condition when she was depressed and anxious. She took an antidepressant and it got better.

You have a condition called trichotillomania. It is caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain and is similar to obsessive-compulsive disorder. You will likely not be able to stop on your own. Many people have this or similar symptoms. Please consult with a psychiatrist who can prescribe a medication that will stop your need to pull hair. Please remember that this is a medical condition, not a bad habit. There is no shame in this, and you are not crazy.

I had the same habit. Some times a pulled it because it felt like rocks in my hair. If you want to wear a wig, or just think how retarded you would look with you're hair like that.

i saw a show on tv with people witht his condition.people who succeeded opt'd for gluing a wig to the crown of the head where most people start pulling-since the wig is in place, you cannot have access to your scalp which forces you to stop-if you really want to help yourself,i would also see a counsler or a therapist for this, they will help you succeed-GOOD LUCK*

This is a psychological condition. I'm going to get the spelling wrong, but it is something like trichotylomania. Sorry about the spelling. I think they have medication to control the compulsion. It is not uncommon.

Shave your head completely and by the time your hair grows back out you will have gotten over it.
