They make a very nice product that deals with that, ADS Tech instant music. I picked one up for under $30 as I recall. You plug the amp into it, and it into the USP port. It ships with a version of Nero that translates the signal into a wave file, and you can write the CD from there. It is time consuming, and requires some adjusting, but once you get the hang of it, it is pretty routine.

I am in the middle of transferring my colection with it.

you will need a turntable that will connect to your computer and then you will be able to record them onto your hardrive using musicmatch jukebox.
the quality might not be the best though, being that we are talking about records.
